FULL MOON MAGIC COMES ALIVE AT THE SEA PINES RESORT

Families have yet another reason to stay, play and learn at acclaimed Hilton Head Island resort

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (June 24, 2025) — Many activities and amenities attract families to spend their summer vacation at The Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, and now there is one more magical lure. The Full Moon Shore Explore allows guests of all ages to connect with the area’s natural beauty, search for hidden creatures as they scurry through the dunes, and learn about the tides and moon, all under the brilliant glow of a full moon.

As the sun readies to set, guests will be accompanied by one of the resort’s guides to learn fascinating facts about the unique environment of Hilton Head Island and learn about the local marine life that comes alive at night, including horseshoe crabs, jellyfish, starfish, sea turtles, and more.

The full moon tours are scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, and Wednesday, Aug. 6 (8:30 to 9:30 p.m.) as well as Monday, Sept. 8 (7:30 to 8:30 p.m.). Rates are $16 for adults (ages 13 and older) and $13 for children (ages 3 to 12).  Advance reservations are required.

“These tours are popular with our guests because they’re a perfect fit for every member of the family,” said Rob Bender, Director of Commercial, Marine & Leisure Operations.  “They showcase nature’s magnificence with a wonderful mix of mystery as to what we’ll uncover along our coast under the light of the full moon.”

A Sunset Shore Explore will also be held throughout this summer, where guests will learn the secrets of the shoreline as the sun sets, minus the full moon. The one-hour events begin at 7 p.m. and will be held on selected Wednesdays during the summer.

The Explore tours are conveniently accessed from wherever guests are staying at the resort — accommodations range from to an array of rental homes and villas, plus the luxurious 60-room Inn & Club at Harbour Town, a Forbes Four-Star boutique hotel and Preferred Hotel Group member.

Day or night, there are an abundance of outdoor activities to keep families busy, including championship golf, bicycling, tennis, pickleball, kayaking, and paddle boarding, plus Eco-Adventures such as horseback trail rides, boat tours, geocaching, and fishing.

Hilton Head Island is served by two nearby airports: Hilton Head Island (HHH) Airport—just 8 miles from the resort—and Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV) Airport, located only 45 miles away.
