Weekend Program Offers Educational Sessions, Yoga Classes, Spa Treatments

WINTERGREEN, Va. (July 22, 2010) – A spectacular mountain setting is the backdrop for Wintergreen Resort’s annual “Inspirations” weekend, a retreat designed for women to learn, share and enjoy each other’s company, Friday, November 5 through Sunday, November 7.  Featured presentations from experienced UVA Health System professionals, yoga classes, spa treatments at the Wintergarden Spa, culinary treats, and wine tasting are part of the program. The Resort has partnered with UVA Health System, Veritas Vineyards and Breathe Magazine to present this special event.

The weekend kicks off with a Friday night welcome reception, including a tasting of Veritas wines paired with hors d’oeuvres and sparkling waters.  Vibrant coach Nicole Greer will lead the group in the opening session, “Take Your Energy Back.”  Saturday offers morning yoga with Rev. Vidya Vonne of Yogaville in Buckingham County, VA, who has been teaching Intergral Yoga classes since her late teens and is the developer of a specialized yoga teacher-training program. Educational presentations on nutrition, stress reduction and well-being are offered on Saturday. 

Award-winning author Marietta McCarty is the featured Saturday luncheon speaker.  In her latest book, How Philosophy Can Save Your Life: 10 Ideas That Matter Most, she brings philosophy alive for everyone interested in the world of ideas. Her philosophy circles ring with voices engaged in hearty conversation, the dialogue laced with laughter in this comfortable setting. 

Saturday afternoon is “your time” for spa treatments, resort exploration and down time.  During this time Rev. Vidya will offer a very special “Laughing Yoga” class for interested participants. The weekend wraps up on Sunday with morning yoga, a brunch presentation, Putting it Out There...The Art of Dialogue: Telling the World Your Purpose, and additional spa treatments, if desired.

The resort’s Wintergarden Spa offers a full range of services, such as massages, body wraps, skin care treatments and nail care. In addition, the mountaintop Aquatics & Fitness Center features a cardiovascular and strength studio, heated indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, steam rooms, and saunas.
