CAROL GODWIN -
is an award-winning travel journalist and photographer, and former public relations director for The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of Washington, D.C. and public relations manager for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, Va. Carol augments HPR’s team with 30 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry.
With numerous placements in national and international publications, Carol is a seasoned researcher, pitcher and public speaker. She is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Travel and Tourism Counsel, as well as the PRSA National Capital Chapter and Independent Public Relations Association National Capital Chapter, and has served on the Historic Hotels of America national public relations committee.
Based in Alexandria, Va., Carol is a pivotal media resource for the team in the Washington, D.C. market.
She is a member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a graduate of its Small Business Academy, Capital Speakers Club of Washington, D.C. Inc, Junior League of Washington, and was recently appointed to a three year term on the Alexandria Marketing Committee. Carol is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and its Northern Virginia Chapter, as well as the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter and president-elect of the Alzheimer’s Women’s Association for Resources and Education (AWARE).
