ED VYEDA - Senior Account Executive -
senior account executive, joined HPR in January 2005, having enjoyed an award-winning journalism career as a writer and editor in sports, features and entertainment.
Ed initiates media contact for HPR’s resort and golf accounts and is a contributing writer and editor for client publications. Although he has covered every type of major sports event from the Super Bowl to the World Series and the Summer Olympics, Ed has written extensively about the golf industry for the past four decades. He has focused on everything from major tournaments to the design of new golf courses, equipment, travel and art. He was a driving force behind the Monterey County Herald's award-winning newspaper coverage of the 2000 U.S. Open Championship at Pebble Beach and is recognized among the leading golf writers in the country.
A member of the Golf Writers Association of America, Ed is vice president and a board member of the California Golf Writers Association. He has won numerous writing awards, was selected for the CGWA's Hayward-Newland Award in 2001 and was honored by the United States Junior Golf Foundation for his editorial content on youth golf.
Married since 1976 to his wife, Karen, Ed has two children, Ed Jr. and Kristen. He lives near Santa Cruz, on the northern side of Monterey Bay, not far from where he grew up. An enthusiastic if not extremely gifted golfer, Ed finally made his first hole-in-one in 2006 — appropriately at a media event he coordinated for a client.
